“Sometimes you start pushing yourself because you desire something and then you stop focusing on the action. I never wanted to go into that zone where I’m mad about something and I stop thinking the right way” said Shubham Maheshwari in an interview with Inked Stories.
Shubham Maheshwari is the founder of Being Chef. He did his schooling and graduation from Jaipur and pursued mechanical engineering from NIT Jaipur. He founded Being Chef 6 years ago and had since then led the growth of the company. He shared that this idea came into his mind after he noticed one thing in the initial years of his career that millennials face a lot of issues when it comes to meeting their daily requirements of food. That’s the thing that boosted him and led to “5 Minute Recipes”.
Being Chef’s 5 Minute Recipe Kits empowers you to cook anything in less than five minutes. It provides buyers with all the necessary ingredients (chopped and processed) customized to a person’s taste with a simple 8-step recipe card. Being Chef also provides delivery of fully prepared meals, customizable meal boxes, etc.
When asked about how the name “Being Chef” came into his mind, Shubham told us that “During the preparation of 5 Minute Recipes, we enjoyed being a chef and the whole process made us happy. Adding to it, when you enter the kitchen and make a meal by your own hands and it turns out to be tasty, at that instance you are enacting like a chef. That’s how we named it Being Chef”.
“Alone we can do so little, together we can do so much” - Helen Keller.
When asked about his team in the interview, Shubham told us that they have 25 people in their team. He got in contact with experienced people in the field of cooking, who helped him with the recipes. He also told us that the core team had been intact from the beginning.
“Life is about accepting the challenges along the way, choosing to keep moving forward, and savoring the journey” - Roy T. Bennett.
When asked about any specific challenge which he faced during his journey he said, “People didn’t support us because our idea was totally different and many people didn’t take us seriously because we were too young at that time”.
On being asked about what motivated him during his journey, Shubham said, “When I was in 10th standard, I watched Amir Khan’s movie ‘Rang de Basanti’ which forced me to ask myself ‘what is the purpose of my life’ and that’s when I decided to devote my life for the betterment of the society”.
“If you want to be proud of yourself, then do things in which you can take pride” - Karen Horney.

Message from Shubham Maheshwari
“Be sure about what you want and why you want it, conduct research before you begin and make sure that your goals are decided by your inner calls and not the external influences, there will be ups and downs in life but always be focussed on the ultimate purpose of your life. If you need a break, pause, but do not quit because to win a game you have to be in the game”.
